I can't at so many people grouping all "book readers" together as if we ALL get pleasure out of spoiling as many non-book readers as possible. 90% of book readers don't spoil anything for people and don't want them to be spoiled. So stop acting like all book readers are superior and sickening just because ONE book reader spoiled something for you

Was I the only one not that impressed? It felt really rushed imo. Everything just happened. Not sure why they didn't shorten last week's episode and stick some of it in there.

Like the title of the episode was The Children...yet they only appeared for like a minute?

Well, I suppose it could have a double meaning (the title)? Dany faces a tough decision regarding her "babies," and the episode largely revolved around the remaining Stark Kids (sans Sansa)

Anyways, besides the ending, I liked the episode. Seriously, it was very good considering they had an hour to fit everything in. Although Jamie and Tyrion's parting of ways irked me a bit. I SCREAMED when Stannis, the one true king, came marching in. That scene was so exciting. So was Brienne vs The Hound. Woo. I was shaking.

Nah children were EVERYWHERE in this episode, not just COTF or the Starks. It was children ranging from Cersei taking control over her father, the farmer's daughter dying, Dany imprisoning her children, Brienne finding one of the children she swore to protect and being denied, then of course Tyrion killing his father. It was pretty tight thematically speaking.

I kind of wish they had edited episode 9 a bit better and they could have crammed some more things in there that were outside the wall. This show definitely deserves 12 episodes per season a la True Blood

Tbh, actually, Lena might be my MVP this episode. Strange because I've always felt they never gave her the right material or she did it wrong (Joff's death), but I think she truly nailed it tonight.

Yeah, they kind of butchered Tyrion in order to protect Peter's status as the fan favorite. Him confessing to Joffrey's murder, him telling Jaime that Cersei has been sleeping with Lancel and the Kettleblacks and Moonboy for all he knows, him killing Shae was turned into a sympathetic moment FOR HIM, him completely forgetting about Tysha, which completely erases the fact that he goes practically insane wondering where *****s go. In AFFC Tyrion turns into the monster everyone thinks he is, which is a really effective evolution and leads to a redemption arc. Kind of pissed that they cut it the more that I think of it.

Exactly, my friends watch the show and haven't read the books and when they ask me what happens with character, I don't even tell them because I want them to be as surprised and shocked as I was when I was reading it

Such a boring theme. Idk maybe I'm just ehh about it since I'm left with so many more questions than answers Best season and finale tho!!

Stay off the internet if you don't want spoilers or be very careful. I decided to read the books right before Season3 because I didn't want to have this problem and because I love this story so much, I wanted everything. Tv shows have to cut a lot from the story to fit their budget and the time frame.
I hate spoilers and I don't even spoil the show to my friends when they ask them something. I want them to be surprised and enjoy the show more.

Isn't that the purpose of a finale? If they answer all the questions, will you stay tune for the next season? You have to look forward to things, if you're not patient, the books are already out.
The Children is a great title. Probably one of the best so far. The whole story revolves around children: the Stark kids, Tywin's kids, Joffrey, the dragons etc... and now these new Children.

I couldn't agree more. The show spent quite a lot of time showing us just how much Tyrion and Jaime care about each other this season. Showing that relationship burning and Tyrion hating Jaime would have made an excellent parting of ways. The show's version as per usual was watered down and weak, imo.
