EVERYONE was talking about Britney in '07. I remember being in class and one of my teachers brought in the US weekly that featured her meltdown and the whole class circled around the one person holding it and everyone was reading the article/talking about how crazy everything that had happened was.

Britney's impact is all because for the wrong reasons and it's disrespectful to what she went through to try and justify how 'great and iconic' it was.
Beyoncé made a bigger, more positive impact with her music in 2013, and I refuse to entertain or put on a pedestal the experiences of a person who was tortured by media and went through what was probably the worst period of her life.
