ARTPOP was an underperformance for Gaga, not a flop.
If it was Katy / Rihanna getting those numbers I doubt anyone would be saying anything.

Rihanna has actually performed quite similarly except she had an extra urban radio hit and waited too long to put out a video so it didn't really go anywhere past the radio performance. (PIU). That kind of performance isn't really shocking to the Rih stans though and honestly I think we as fans should move past that kind of chart performance as shocking too. I think Gaga's main objective is to focus on making great music. Sometimes you just have albums that don't perform as good as the rest. It's the effort into the next project that really counts and so on! A lot of iconic/legends of pop music have massive flops that never even entered the billboard hot 100/bubbling under and they're still legends today. Gaga knows this (her fave is David Bowie

I agree with everything. Especially the bolded part.
I remember every time I heard a new song in 2012, I'd be like "Now here comes the breakdown" then it comes. The structure would be predictable in EVERY DAMN SONG!

And most of them sounded the same.

I remember when Gaga said "I'm running away from the sameness" on LM.com. I was like "YES, Gaga, I'm ready for ARTPOP". Ah, good times.

So, I was listening to the Rozen Maiden(AMAZING Anime btw) Soundtracks, and I thought If Gaga would go for this sound for the next album, mostly drums and violins with Gaga's amazing choruses.. The critical acclaim would be real. The album would be like the best pop album ever.

Gaga could definitely pull something like that off! It's just a matter of getting the production right and perfect lyrics/melody. I would kill to hear her do something very instrumental and with a powerful vibe but at the same time not exactly electronic.

Applause is so great that the feeling I got when the song and video got released is still there!

It is so magical. The voice and the way she sang the verses makes it more special
