I agree with everything. Especially the bolded part.
I remember every time I heard a new song in 2012, I'd be like "Now here comes the breakdown" then it comes. The structure would be predictable in EVERY DAMN SONG!

And most of them sounded the same.
I remember when Gaga said "I'm running away from the sameness" on LM.com. I was like "YES, Gaga, I'm ready for ARTPOP". Ah, good times.
