All these Americans wishing the IOC would give the Olympics to one of their dusty cities needs to take a firm seat down. Stop hating on London for it.

Ya'll saying it should have been held in Chicago needs to SITTTT.

Firstly, ya'll should be BLESST that Chicago wasn't chosen. Any city that hosts the Olympics that have not hosted it before turns out WORSE than when it started after the Olympics. Look at Athens and Beijing, so much pollution/corruption/empty venues were caused by the Olympics and is something they still have to deal with. Imagine Chicago, the most corrupt city in America hosting the Olympics! It would have lost A LOT OF MONEY, the government of Chicago/America would have made a fool of themselves, the development of necessary facilities would have been a logistical nightmare and afterwards, the Olympics could have led Chicago on the brink of bankruptcy.

Secondly, Chicago wasn't even the SECOND CHOICE. Not the THIRD CHOICE. It was the fourth choice for a reason. The Olympic committee did not think it was prepared for an event of this magnitude. If Rio does not get it together and the IOC decided to move it to somewhere else, they would have gone with Madrid, Tokyo, probably London before they would even consider Chicago.

Thirdly, they WILL NOT move the Olympics to anywhere other than Rio. Anyone who believes otherwise is an idiot because it is purely illogical and impossible to host an Olympics in less than 2 years. Impossible. Rio will host it at 2016 and anything else should not be considered

Finally, IOC/Rio is corrupt. They are going to delay development as much as possible than charge A LOT OF MONEY for companies to develop using AS LITTLE AS MONEY AS POSSIBLE to pay for it while pocketing A LOT OF MONEY themselves. Brazilian government constantly do this where they budget for city development using a lot of money, pay the companies that actually do it a little while keeping the rest in their pockets. That is why Brazil is so corrupt and will never be a world power. However, through bribery they were able to get this Olympics and is now showing the world its true colors.

You r delusional Chicago is 10x the city Rio is just based on infrastructure, 1st World conditions, and capabilities alone Chicago lost quickly bcuz so many voters assumed it would win, so they chose to vote for cute other cities en masse.
And Beijing has had pollution problems since forever but their economy remains booming, and China remsins sitting on the Worlds biggest cash and gold reserves. Greece was aalways a mess and the recession just made it worse.

Rio is just a mess. No other country has acted like this except maybe Sochi

If and I mean IF the games are moved, it would probably be to Tokyo as they are currently the ONLY other city in the world prepping for the Summer games. There is NO WAY London could scramble them together in 2 years.

But they won't be moved. Those rumors were probably "leaked" out to bully the Rio organizers into getting **** done.
