There was only talk of shutting it down before we made it reportable, cause we couldn't moderate it properly, and people kept whining in HQ about offensive posts. So it was then that we had to "fight" for SYG. Now it's not an issue anymore, although its purpose is still questioned from time to time.

I think all the big changes with NHB and SYG happened before the newest batch of mods, so they were probably talking about older stuff

I would never personally report it myself, but I believe I've seen some of the "reverse racism is real!!" people (successfully) report that for insensitive or abrasive, so I'd be careful to use it politely
