The amount of mature songs Taylor has is quite a high percentage of her music, but they must be invisible to everyone but Taylor stans.

Sorry but I was only comparing their first few singles of their albums. I'm sure Taylor has some deep and meaningful lyrics in her albums but she doesn't focus on them, meaning the perception of her music is not as mature as Adele's.

Also, you can make fun and carefree songs without sounding immature. Example: Adele's Rumour Has It.

It all comes down to how the GP views them.

Especially since Taylor has those rumors floating around her while Adele doesn't have anything rather messy in the media. Plus, Adele's music is more appealing to a vast variety of age groups and music listeners.

Rumor Has It is not a fun or carefree song though. It's not a light song by any means.

In lyrics, no. But in production and vibe it's pretty upbeat and carefree. Anyway the point is (even if I chose a poor example) that carefree doesn't have to mean singing about hanging out making fun of your exes and dressing up like a social group, etc.

And to answer the question, Adele her music sounds mature (piano driven ballads) and appeals more to the mature audiences. Plus, her voice is GODLY, I didn't expect her to have such powerful singing voice (I thought she was a black woman when I first heard SLY on the radio).

Taylor is respected, too, by critics, A-listers, etc... but the GP? Not so much...

Taylor gets hate for being a young woman in her 20's who goes out on dates like any other normal woman in her 20's does. Dating does not always equal relationship. I'm a male in my 20's and go on dates with many women, but that does not mean I'm going around having relationships with them either. Dating is just something you in your 20's.. You play the field and see what type of person you like.. But maybe I'm a male and I guess that makes it okay for me to do? But God forbid a successful, beautiful woman in her 20's does that.. Let's call her a **** and make fun of her.. OK.

Actually I find it a little more strange how Adele has a child and isn't even married. That is actually something to come for.. not a woman in her 20s who goes on dates and has relationships.

'Begin Again', 'Back to December', 'All to Well' and 'I Almost Do' are my favorites lyrically from Taylor. Songs like 'Enchanted' are great too. I have a story playing in my head when I listen to her. She really can set a scene with her songs. I personally prefer Adele's voice and songs. I think it comes down to personal preferences with the sound of everything (music, lyrics, vocals). Even though I love Adele, I can't disagree that she is very talented when it comes to her songwriting and the way she portrays the lyrics……I'm gonna go listen to some Tay-Tay now….please don't be In love with some one else. please don't have somebody waiting on you
