I'm been thinking about all this musical direction and I really think she should not leave her sound entirely. People love her consistency and the fact that she can make any song to her own. If she did a pop album leaning towards the rock/alternative/folk territory, it would work great. Everybody would be pleased, fans and casual listeners.

didn't like her at all? no, i always admired the production value of her songs. although, i've never been in love with her voice or her stage presence which is basically zilch (of what i've seen so far). she's an album artist, not a live touring artist to me. i do own her last album because it's well crafted and very well produced. some lyrics are laughable, but at least she can paint a picture musically, and that's one thing i miss from pink.
and you know i always wanted pink to work with the black keys, and now i find out that lana worked with dan auerbach on ultraviolence and i'm thinking -- this makes so much sense! no wonder i love these songs. her sound does sound more organic and more psychedelic which is amazing. pink had that too with my vietnam or gone to california. i wished she would go back to that sound.
also, regarding lana: with the new songs, i've noticed that she's gotten better at singing it seems.
