For a moment there, after 2013 RG when she was holding the Wimbledon, Olympic Gold, US Open, YEC and French Open titles simultaneously, I thought maybe she could. Things went downhill fast though, and now it seems like that was more like how a star shines brightest right before it goes out, than a new peak or anything

For a single tournament, yeah, the first few rounds of AO 2008 were absolutely savage. I can't stand Maria, but that QF is one of my most played matches ever

The way she savagely mauled Henin off both wings, AND on serve

She also murdered Dementieva and Jankovic pretty good too.
But I think 2012-current Maria is the most consistent she's been over a long period, and her fittest as well. How can she play so many 3 set matches and always be ready for another, barely showing signs of fatigue? People probably underrate this aspect because match to match fitness isn't as easily observable as say, raw footspeed of physical power.
