Thriller doesn't always chart.
Anyways, several Michael Jackson albums are charting on that list ATM.
Why do you think that is?
It wouldn't be because Michael has an album out atm, would it?
It's clearly because he has a new album out
Just like it's clear Madonna is charting because of talk of her new album.
So we are down to the above being correct using your own logic.
So your real problem is me using the term general public. The term general public is so ambigious but for the sake of pleasing you, I'll rephrase. It's safe to say that whatever number of people purchased the immaculate collection are keen for M13

If there is a rumour and then an album charts the number of sales is irrelevant because as i explained to you, a portion of those people engaging in hype purchase the album.
It's basic marketing and Iv'e explained it to you. It's going around in cicrles. If you don't want to accept it, that's totally fine. You certainly don't have to. But I fail to see the purpose of explaining the same thing it different ways to each other.

1. The exact number of copies is irrelevant if it's going to be around 3,000. As I originally stated, go ahead and check HDD to see their report of Miley or Katy's album after the tracking week. It's not going to be a lot.
2. Nope! Nothing regarding her new album has trended on social media.
Oh, please. Keep that basic marketing crap to yourself. You have no sense or reality here. You have no idea who purchased that album. A portion purchasing for the hype means any number less than the total copies sold for the time it charted. A portion of the customers could also be new fans who have just recently discovered her via an 80s radio station or fans trying to purchase all her albums digitally. Don't try to extrapolate 3,000 people to assume her new project is going to be successful, then tell me the number of copies sold is irrelevant. 3,000 people is hardly anything to boast about.
You don't have to explain anything to me. I'm able to rationalize quite well for myself and make sense of reality, which seems to be a problem for people who blindly defend and praise their favorite celebrities.

Michael is charting because he has a lot of publicity at this point: a new album out with features from top acts like JT, a hologram performance watched by millions of people. Madonna on the other hand hasn't trended based off of her new album whatsoever. We don't even know how many people know of it.
Regardless, my point is that timeless albums will always chart sporadically.
I've already said ALL of this.

Madonna (again) has trended on social media. She has also released a photoshoot. She's had numerous world wide news stories.
You're just ignoring all the Madonna publicity in an attempt to support your point that it's spiratic but it's not.
Madonna has been recieving a lot of attention atm and that why her album (which has been the same price for more than 12 months) is charting. It's as simple as that.
Michael Jackson has charted on the same chart (according to you) because of all the publicity.
Madonna (who has also had a lot of publicity) is charting because it's a timeless album.
Your logic doesn't even make sense, It's come to the point now where you're too stubborn to acknowledge you were wrong.
Sure, timless classics do chart from time to time. The coinicidence of it charting now, it's a coincidence.

I actually totally agree with this! You're right!

Who cares about a photo shoot? Where has she been the top trend when it comes to her new music project? That's where all the sales hype is coming from according to you. Show me where!
I'm not ignoring any publicity about the album itself.
Speaking of the photo shoot, those sales could easily factor in Katy Perry fans who have now discovered Madonna thanks to Katy Perry! It doesn't point solely or largely to her new music at all, especially considering talk of her new album hasn't trended anywhere!

M13 has been a social media trend (her 13th studio album)
You are. The shoot is indeed putting her on the GP's minds.
Also, if you cared to do your research, you would find Katy Perry is barely mentioned when it comes to the reports. They mentions "Madonna's" racy shotoshoot. - Madonna is the one getting the attention from the shoot.
Is it honestly so hard for you to say, M is charting again based on talk of her new album. Is it THAT hard for you. lol I mean, honestly.

By the way, Madonna has not had anywhere near the type of publicity Michael has had with his new album. This is absolutely pointless. Some people simply can't digest the plain truth, so they have to try and twist or ignore points, then try to pretend like they know about marketing and common sense when their posts clearly tell another story.

What? Why are you attacking me?
Chill! I came in this thread & saw something that I agreed with in a comment that is nowhere near being considered "flamebait". So why shouldn't I quote it & agree with it?
The "quote" option is there for a reason. Smh!
Calm down!

I havn't ingored any of your points. I have countered them.
The fact you're saying I ignored points you raised, speaks volumes.

It has not been a social media trend. Show me proof, and show me trends in the US where her compilation album is charting.
Katy Perry has been promoting the magazine on her Instagram page quite a few times. When I said sales from Katy Perry fans, it was common sense to think about that!
I would if that were the case, but it's not so obvious. I've already stated why.

Not some members turning this thread into a mess
IC is a GH collection full of timeless classics for good price + the media coverage of her album in the making and V mag shoot = sales.
What is so hard to understand about it?

I wouldn't even know where to find it. I wasn't prepared to have to deal with your err opinion.
You don't have to hold the same opinion as me or others but for me I don't think the album charting at a time when Madonna is being mentioned in the media and rumours have been circulating about her album is a coincidence and that's a reasonable opinion to hold.
Again, we are just going around in circles. I feel like my opinion is correct, you feel like yours is.
