Thanks to DOFP a new timeline means they can introduce him earlier if they want to

However ArcAngel was only a horseman in some of the Apocalypse comic storylines, others had different mutants. If they were going for a time-travel element thing again which them showing Apocalypse as a young man in ancient Egyptian-looking times at the end of DOFP would indicate might happen it might be cool to have lets say an older version of Storm, Phoenix/Jean, Xavier, Magneto - the super-powerful mutants as the horsemen, brainwashed like in the comics

He still remains the most recognizable horsemen so it would make sense
Besides he is hot as Angel but he looks BADASS as ArcAngel

Wolverine, Sunfire, Warpath, etc. are just some of the other possible horsemen choices.

he will have to be the around same age as the young scott then, assuming the Angel in X3 was around the same age as the main people like in the comics. The timeline may be changed, but events not directly connected to Trask dying, like Warren Worthington being born, still happen.

EDIT: At the start of X3, there was a "ten years ago" scene showing a boy Angel just starting to grow out his wings so that means he should be born in the 80s

I think XLS is fine. It's basically a another timeline like in Zelda. If they ever want to introduce a new X-team that takes place in the future they could use that as a pivot.

To fans of the comics/cartoons. The majority of moviegoers won't care really, and he was a flop character in X3. He also shoots missiles from his metal wings as ArcAngel in the comics which would look very Iron Man comic-booky and not with the tone of realism in X-Men movies.

I'd much rather an established mutants be brainwashed for the role, X-Men Evolution had a great take on it with Storm, Xavier, Magneto and Mystique - a great way to bring back P-Stew, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry and Rebecca Romijn.

But that's the beauty of the time travel element - he can be whatever age and be in the 1980s. If it means the same dude playing Angel the same way he did in X3 I'm all for no Angel in Apocalypse tbh.

Angel/ArchAngel has one of the BEST storylines in X-Men! Plus, he is my FAVORITE X-Men (and one of the four ORIGINAL X-Men in the comics). Don't pay him dust!
