Clearly the Deluxe is her way of leaking the rest of Angels Advocate before her contract with Def Jam expires. The label cancelled the album and the rest of the tracks leaked so she wanted to release the rest while she had the chance (and rights) to.

Well maybe the other material that she has is not up to her standard, thus she doesn’t want anyone to hear it. She is a stubborn woman. I don’t know what happened but she barely had enough time to finalize those standard album cuts. The deluxe thing seems like something extra she has to do to fulfill her contract or whatever. If she were to put new material on the deluxe, I reckon it might take another pushback to have every note sounded perfect to her.

Right. We have 15 tracks including Letting Go, this moaning is unnecessary - she didn't even have to do a deluxe and I doubt she is the type to stick a few leftovers on the end of an album. It has nothing to do with not caring about fans

This. I think it probably would have been more of Def Jam's decision that Mariah to do a deluxe edition.

She has never done one before [simultaneously with the standard release]. It's just cos everyone seems to do it these days so the label just went with it.

But we got bonus tracks with EOM and E=MC2, it didn't matter with Memoirs because we'd just got an album the year before but this time we waited 5 years and I just feel like she obviously knows her hardcore fans will buy her deluxe edition and so she could have included 1 or 2 of the many scrapped tracks. I understand she created a body of work but if she's contractually obliged to release a deluxe edition she could have at least made it worthwhile for the lambily that she knows will most likely buy it

Also, not sure how the contractual side of this works, but I gauge that she may want to save some of the material that didn't make this album for her next project --- which may NOT be on Def Jam.

Something in my gut tells me she wants off Def Jam. It's a completely different landscape there with completely new people since Emancipation/E=MC2, most notably with LA Reid gone. Def Jam and Island just split too spelling more confusion.

I hope she ends up at Columbia, they are generally great with artists that are a priority e.g Beyonce and are great with pushing acts with an "older" sound - such as Adele.

I think it's important that, as fans, we look beyond this album because as much as I love it and can FEEL that she made it for us, I'm not the most hopeful when it comes to its sales.

I think she's gonna run to LA at Epic, and make sure to get a clause in her contract allowing her to opt out if he leaves. Then she'd also be back on Sony which could give us some rereleases and unreleased stuff!
