But I really think she ****ed herself over with G.U.Y. Applause, DWUW, and Gypsy are the three best single choices.

Exactly! Now people will be hesitant and listen first and not be so haste on their opinion.

She wanted the decay theme, I'm guessing they wanted The Fame 2.0. So that's what she tried to make, but she failed. I'm perfectly fine with her not being able to make a party record. I love Gaga first and foremost for her creativity and her being able to make a record that is above the standard. But ARTPOP is nothing more than a conglomeration of songs, some great, some good, some just okay. She should've just stuck to her original concept because even if it wasn't fun and colorful, it would've been unique and original and conceptual.

To be honest, The Gaga during The Fame Monster and even the Fame was just making a name for herself. She had everything to prove and nothing to lose. Now she has to gain all of that back. Not to mention when you're at a place in your career where people are leaving you and the critics start snatching your skull when they used to praise you, it hurts. It's not an excuse for her to start paying attention to the critics/haters now, but I understand why it bothers her. She needs to use that fuel to kick ass, but with her music, not her twitter. I do believe she has an ear for hits, Applause, Aura's chorus, G.U.Y, DWUW, Dope, Venus (to some extent), Gypsy, and even Fashion!, to some extent have qualities that are all hit worthy, just not for this musical climate. She's ignoring what the radio wants and is doing what she wants. That's not really a good or a bad thing, it's just defiant.

I TOTALLY agree wit this
she really needs to learn from this and direct the anger and frustration towards crafting something great , she's known for drawing inspiration from heartache , and I'm with you on the part about her having it with the negative criticism , I mean she's a human , how much is one supposed to take until they either flip out or breakdown , she has one hell of a tough skin tbh

Yupp I also agree. If she goes back into the studio and creates another bland EDM album I'm legit going to be pissed. She cannot take all of this criticism, anger, frustration, and emotional constraint and make Venus 2.0. Like, girl, come on. You know how to write music, just stop thinking so hard and put your cards on the table.

I love the drums behind it.
I also love the percussion during Applause and a few of the other songs on the album.

I feel like she just can't function without a SET theme. Like she had one, SOMETHING made it change and then everything kinda went down hill. So she just recorded a bunch of random songs and threw them together very sloppily.

I definitely believe everything that happened over the DWUW era has given Gaga inspiration for some songs

I agree, something set off her thematic. She definitely hinted about the phoenix rising above the ashes and then the decay, and then suddenly she was the phoenix buried in the ash

I know it's a long shot but, honestly, Gaga just needs not to overthink it.

Venus is undoubtedly one of the best off of ARTPOP , I never thought I'd say this when I first heard it , it seamed chaotic and cluttered , but it ended up really growing on me

She should go and make an album with a theme then. I'm glad she loves ARTPOP and I'm really glad she brought it to life with artRAVE because that was the perfect celebration for this album, but she needs to either have a theme that she can easily make music for (like The Fame Monster) or just go off the edge and give us some heartfelt **** you pop music that'll scalp all the haters.

I love ARTPOP but the biggest flaw of the album is the inconstancy , like what does a song like Dope have to do on an EDM full album , it throws people off , and the songs don't flow together , they are great individually though

That's true too, and it's evident that she can overthink. BTW the album is proof of that. In this case though, it's like the theme of the album is non-existent throughout the songs. Instead of just saying "My album is based on a really big party and you're invited to listen" she just said "my ARTPOP could mean anything" Which I guess, art CAN mean anything you want but . The title/song set wouldn't even be that bad if it made sense with the songs.
