Not going to drop any names, but there were major artists who dropped albums/are in the middle of eras right now and didn't get a single nomination. Rihanna was nominated five times- regardless of if she won or not, it's still a testament of how strong of a hold she has on Billboard formats. She released one video and two HIGHLY under promoted singles that didn't garner a whole lot of attention during the timeframe to be nominated (not including TM, obviously); and yet, she still was considered and nominated as the top female and R&B artist. Quite the accomplishment, if you ask me.
