because she's on an old contract from when albums used to sell well and Mariah had a huge superstar status in negotiations. So they probably wont make that much $ even if it sells well cos Mariah and her people/awyers got the $ on lock Newer album contracts are a lot stricter on artists and the label now gets $ from touring/merchandise etc too (called a 360 deal). Not that the touring $ will worry Mariah since she dont tour
Mariah has really only 2 options though - sign a deal with Universal (who own DefJam) or go back to Sony.
We already know from her hiring JD and Randy Jackson that doing things independently is not her forte
She's touring the world with this album she already said it several times
