and it's cool that you like her greatest hits cd, but that's just scratching the surface if you ask me. i'd suggest you give her albums a chance, especially her album m!ssundaztood since it's influenced her contemporaries so much and is such a deep and musically delicious album.
i guess the US didn't pay much attention to her because she dared to speak up and dove more into rock musically (with her album try this). she was and still is huge in europe and australia (so many other artists try to follow her success down under -- katy perry and lady gaga's managers mentioned that).
it took a while for the US to realize what they've missed out on. but she pretty much stole everyone's thunder when she released so what and then performed her breathtaking glitter in the air at the grammys. ever since she's very much back on the map in the US (like she was with m!ssundaztood).
so, yeah, glad to have someone who's interested in an amazing voice, great lyrics, and a down-to-earth great and fun human being.
