I reckon she'll debut within 65-80k range, hopefully top 5, top 10 at the worst. Globally it will probably fail to even chart, it'll struggle for top 40 UK i reckon.
it's kind of deserving cause she and her team are doing absoulutely everything to destroy the era they've been doing it for a long time. I guess no promo at all would be better cause no promo could be used as an excuse for flopping.
She's doing absolUtely everything wrong, as if she is some independent debut artist. She doesn't care, neither do I. I'm totally cool now with her flopping., it's not worth being upset.
I'm VERY disappointed in her and her team. if she doesn't care then she should at least appreciate the facts that her fans DO CARE and find charts very important and love to brag about her chart success. She had basically everything to make another successful era: huge tv show, hit single that was loved by public and critics, yet she blew everything away. And now she's releasing the album with no single. And it's not some sort of a strategy, the thing is there is no strategy at all.

I agree and she is trolling hard. But it's the last album on her contract so I'm guessing there is a lot of label drama and mess we don't know about. Either way it will tarnish her legacy. The title of the album alone has already done just that. And for Gods sake woman get in shape.

Some lambs are going berzerk, I see.
I remember TEOM and people were laughing at that title as well. People think mariah is crazy, the title will not tarnish anything, drama queens.
I would love a new single before release but who cares? A flop album won't tarnish anything.

"The Emancipation of Mimi" is one thing, but it's nothing compared to "Me. I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse."
Not to mention, at least everything else with TEOM was going well. Can we say the same with this mess?
nnn;; just give the music already. I've been ready.

Nope. The Japan release date is just set as June 4th. It's common that Japan gets albums a little later.
The US release date remains May 27th.

I don't get the 'She's already a legend, she doesn't need to do _ _ _ stuff' .
She would have much more of my respect if she still took everything more seriously & had a well managed era. Being a legend doesn't give you an excuse...if it does that's called being arrogant...and that single thing is what causes the downfall of great people/companies/brands.
I am looking forward to the music, for sure...I have loved every single this era has given us so far (bar Atrociumphant)...but I've lost a lot of respect for her & her management. I hope one sweet day her team & her can get this together & give Mariah the respect she deserves.
I remember when she did 'Looking In' live about a year ago...I thought that was the start of a more personal Mariah coming with more meaningful stuff...oh well.

The japanese cover is just... Her teeth. The cover is giving me slight "Charmbracelet" vibes.

TEOM is nothing compared to this title. TEOM is acceptable, but this one just crosses the line, it's so tacky and cheesy. But it's jsut the title and it's the least important problem of all, very irrelevant compared to state of her very poor career managiNg and lack of ideas, will and any strategy.
She's always been goofy but nowdays she's ONLY that - goofy and comes off as a very self obsessed tacky person. She needs to rebuild/change her image cause this is just a complete disaster, and by that i mean all the tacky photos/media covers she's been making and similar. People make fun of her to such an extent that it's seriously starting to damage her perception of a legendary songbird diva. And it's all her fault.
It's just incredible the amount of damage she continues doing to her iconic status.
And whoever does not think she's seriously damaging herself is delusional; take a look at how she's being perceived NOWDAYS by GP!
Look at us lambs discussing will she be able to sell even 80k the first week?!
Take a look at Celine how her last album was quite successful. And she always bring huge tour numbers. Mariah just cannot do that. Why? Because poor management and because she's desperately trying to appeal to very young listeners (visually/physically) while musically she fails to compete with current pop girls, and she should not! And people who loved her and were into her back then are now grown ups and have abandoned this "visually young" mariah. Imagine if celine was behaving the way mariah has been (aka- tacky heavily photoshoped sexual covers and videos), she would not be selling her albums and tours, cause she would lose her key audience, the grown ups that mariah has lost due to her image.
SO much work to be done, but only if she wants it, but i'm affraid she's very delusional and has no one to tell her the way things are and what to do.

I agree. I am obsessed with ha 1993-1999 music and I stay in love with the Butterfly album forever. but now... its like that she just doesnt care about the side effects this era will have on ha legacy oh 90s Mariah, honey honey how I miss you, most as Christmas time already disappointed in this era cos when you believe in an artist this much and they disappoint its like something lotion has been turned to ash I mean I cant even stay triumphant anymore about this 'era'

I disagree. Mariah's image and legacy are sealed. There is no "undoing" of someone who is a legend once the status has been achieved. You must realize that Mariah has never been universally loved, even in the days of Tommy when she couldn't be who she wanted to be. She has changed and become the person whom she wants to be, and that freedom and joy is appreciated. We read too much into what her haters say. Interviewers have all knocked her for being late, yes that may be unacceptable. However, why do we not report on the interviewers that said it was the best interview they've ever had? Or why dont blogs pick up on the fact that people say they genuinely enjoy her and that the wait for the lateness was absolutely worth it?
Thus, the whole image argument never really worked for me because people have made up their mind about Mariah long before her sexy videos and her artwork (which is less photoshopped than people actually want to believe). I don't get why we must have the dramaticking when Mariah is simply doing what she wants to do, and having her way. It's not the management or the label. Yes, she has the drive for more record breaking achievements but I also think she knows that if the music quality is where it should be, that would overcome everything else, including the critics who hate to give her a single praise.
Let's wait on the music and let's see how it sounds. This is why I think she should've simply released the album without warning. That way we'd be talking about the music rather than the image. The general public is so fickle.

You panicked queens furiously typing up 5 paragraph essays...
So embarrassing. Take a few pumps of your inhaler & have a seat until the music's out. Please.

Tell 'em, sis!
I couldn't agree more. Sure there is mismanagement and her behavior is questionable at times but I just want her to be who she is because that's when she's happiest and best.
