Cultural clash, my mum wouldn't approve of a black girl. (Not like i'm straight anyway )Not black, white or East Asian. Also Asian parents are extremely controlling. I reckon most 2nd generation Asians have no problem with interracial dating, but they wont due to the ""My dad/Mum will kill me if they find out".

Also negative stereotypes. Not only do all old fashioned Asians look down upon darker skin, even if its just beauty wise. They usually generalise a LOT. They think a lot of blacks are ghetto, and the rest are well mannered, conservative, church going Africans. You are in one box or the other. It's something in general asians do a lot.

In LA there is a lot of black and asian...so I'm not for sure. Asians in general have always been a more inclusive race and usually date their own. I see a lot of black guys dating white and latino though, so...no. I don't agree with the original statement.

well, at the end of the days, it all comes to the cultural definition of beauty and attractiveness. even within Asian countries, the definitions of beauty are very different in each country. for example, what Japanese think is beautiful could be weird as **** with Vietnamese so I think it's kinda understandable that Asian gays usually don't find black gays attractive - it's because of the way they define attractiveness which was shaped during such a long period of time in the history. same goes with black gays don't find asian gays attractive if you look back at the history, it's the white, not the black that became the "exotic, high beauty standard" in Asian countries during colonization time.

1) read my post again. I NEVER said that I will never date black/dark skin people. I open to that possibility if I ever fall in love with them. Personality is number 1 for me.

2) It shows how people over-consider everything as racism or self-hatred or whatever you call it. GROW UP! It's like having a preference of BEARS over TWINKS. It is PREFERENCE.
