Lots of reasons. Because people are excited about Ariana and her Nickelodeon career is unknown enough that she doesn't have it holding her back like Demi and Selena. A lot of people who learn about Ari through her music have no idea she's a Nick actress. Selena has no passion for music and it shows. Demi doesn't come across as ambitious. Ariana can sing and makes good music. And Ariana has the type of fans who are willing to pay for her stuff.

Problem is better than any Demi song, tbh. Ariana's songs don't sound as generic as Demi's.

And on a personal level, I don't care for Demi's voice that much. She has a few songs I like tho.

I think Ariana is a surprise success. Who would've thought the girl from Victorious who played a minor character become a big popstar right now. Compared to Demi & Selena, Ariana quite new. To see her outsold both Demi & Selena first week are amazing

Miley had The Climb (#4) and PITUSA (#2) with HWR which are peaks Demi and Selena have yet to see 6-7 years into their careers. And WCS and Wrecking Ball are global hits because it was Miley's decision to breakthrough with outrageous antics that would make her relevant in different music markets. Also both WCS and WB are nowhere near PITUSA's U.S. sales. So again your comments failed to make sense.
