I took a road trip with friends and i popped in Emancipation and the MISERY they experienced was real but I STAYED bopping. Comments like "shes a bitch" or "dumb diva" flew around but im not suprised that the basic GP would continue to slander her name for their promotional gain but we'll keep them in our prayers. One of my friends said she was an amazing singer but just not her taste

I love Mariah but the validity here is just a MESS what kind of accuracy and how her personality has progressively gotten worse through the years, as a lamb I get and enjoy it but I do miss how articulate and passionate she was about being taken seriously as an artist in the earlier years, I don't know how she let the bimbo thing get so far she was the perfect balance of sexy, youthful and mature during the Daydream - #1's stretch but I think the Rainbow era is where it started

Yes, Rainbow really was a marked deterioration in her music AND image. Around that time is when people starting expecting pop stars to be sexier and ballads stopped being as popular. We see the pendulum swinging back now, but her image to the GP seems pretty cemented. Idol was a chance to change that, but the Nicki fighting only exacerbated the diva image.

I'm sure it was tough but she has a habit of being a huge drama queen so I would not be surprised if she makes it seem worse than it really was. He was controlling, so what? Leave and you did, don't need to keep harping on about it.

Truth! The Rainbow era was the beginning of the downfall in that sense. However, sometimes I wonder if that was the real Mariah that she always wanted to be but couldn't before.
