Not necessarily. Special/tribute award presentations are usually a lot longer than even the regular categories. That Ariana Grande award was strangely brief.

Plugging your upcoming album while presenting on a live award show is nagl imo. Hence Nicki Minaj and Black Friday, it just looks desperate if its not part of the script of the show.

Hilary doesn't have an album to plug, it'd be the single. They can start off with a script that mentions what an honor it is to be nominated for a Billboard award. Then, the tacky rapper can say "My album is coming out on June-whatever make sure you cop that and maybe I'll be at the awards next year" and then can say to Hil "Don't you have music coming out soon too" and Hil can just keep it cute and say "yeah next month" and give one of her glowing smiles to cheers from the audience. It'd work perfectly.

What kinda thoroughly thought-out game plan? I was gonna say the announcer just mentions it when introducing her to present the award, but this works too.
