I haven't seen the new ones. Like the OP, I didn't know why they even bothered re-creating the movie but I might just watch it now.

Basically the studio stomped over every creative decision with SM3 and that pissed off Sam Raimi. He refused to rush SM4, which was supposed to star Anne Hathaway as Felicia Hardy.
Since the studio needs to put out a SM movie every few years to keep the rights, they decided to just reboot the whole thing

In general the new ones are just better!
I mean if people were to base it off hotness then Tobey would win I assume since he fills out the suit more.

I don't give a **** about the hotness of Andrew. I think he is the better fit because Toby is extremely awkward and his acting is terrible. I don't understand why they picked him out of all people to play Spiderman.

In addition, I think the plotlines of TAS 1 and 2 are a lot better than the 2000s version.

Ah, makes sense now.

I watched TAS1 and it was cool. It's less childish than the original ones, and they got worse as the movies carried on.

SM2 > TASM > TASM 2 > SM > SM3.

I like the new ones. I like the old ones. However TASM and TASM 2 aren't touching the masterpiece that was Spider-Man 2.

The cast from the original was so perfect, I loved Tobey, Kirsten, and James. Those movies feel campier, more like a comic book. The new ones have made adjustments to keep up with the more realistic-feeling tone superhero movies have nowadays. I'm glad they rebooted it instead of going for #4, but I love the originals.

SM > SM2 > ASM2 > ASM > SM3

2000s. That's the Spider-Man I know & love. Its clearly the superior franchise. The box office & critics dont lie.
