i would'nt say coldplay songs like LOVERS IN JAPAN, STRAWBERRY SWING VIOLET HILL, HURTS LIKE HEAVEN, CHARLIE BROWN, and many others as mainstream though, most of their songs are not mainstream, EXCEPT THEIR SINGLES.

i would'nt say they're overtly mainstream as maroon 5 post Hands All Over.

They've been mainstream since Yellow. But don't judge the album based one one song. Go listen to Oceans or Always In My Head. This album has ALL their sounds from Parachutes to MX to some new things like Midnight and ASFOS.

Coldplay, one of biggest bands in new millennium, has finally made huge hit! They are the biggest band in the world right now, and that feat of being #1 is well deserved! Also with EDM (Avicii) flavour!

Really, it seems like I never turned their back on them. whilst some artists release below-par albums and songs to follow up, Coldplay seems to be consistent over the years.

But considering Coldplay made huge hits for 14 years, still impressive.

Will we remember some of the other people currently on iTunes Top 10s around the world? We'll see.
