Maybe they could relabel it as "turkey" or some such? doubt people would know the difference.
That's uh, pretty fuqed up, actually, lying and what not, not to mention the inevitable lawsuit for fraud and the massive public relations fall out once the fraud was uncovered. That said, I had beef bacon once at a Sheraton in Cairo. It was good.
I don't see the point in removing it from the menu just to cater to the Muslims' religious beliefs. I mean, they can offer halal as an alternative, but they should still offer ham and bacon for their non-Muslim customers. If the Muslims don't like it, they don't have to eat there, I mean... I don't see why they would mind as long as they can still choose to have what they want.

What? An establishment isn't halal if they also sell pork products.

Oh, wait... Yeah, you're right. Mess. You'll have to cut me some slack, I had a long day and I'm not 100% familiar with the Muslim faith obviously because I don't practice it.
Honestly I understand offering a halal option but I think taking away bacon/ham is too far. At the end of the day the UK is made up of non-muslim countries and Muslim customers can just buy meats that aren't bacon or ham.
Don't see what the big deal is about this, subway is a franchise which means anyone can own their own branch. Clearly Muslims have bought into the franchise just like most of London has Jewish, Muslim and Russian investors. If this is a problem to you then maybe you should start buying British products, the few that remain.
