I've taken a few women studies classes.
The tension between white feminists and feminists of color has existed for a long time, in part because of race, class, and position.

Feminists are very categorized. You have feminist (white, middle class), black feminist (usually refer to themselves as womanist), Latina feminist (Refer to themselves as Chicana feminist) and Asian feminist.
Theb you have the term intersectionality. What that basically says in simple terms is although a man of color can suffer from racism he has the agency to be sexist, although a white woman can suffer from sexism she has the agency to be racist. It recognize all of our class, gender, and race differences that would make us the oppressed or oppressor in society. A bodied able gay person has the agency to discriminate against a disabled person.

You sound ignorant as hell. You can type out as many Tumblr PC terms as you want, but the ignorance in your posts is evident. You want to chastise a who group of people from all walks of life, for one person's actions? Do you also believe all muslims are terrorists?

ofc not and that's why I said some fans, not all of them. But then you jumped in to imply if my hair looked like Bruno's it would be a favor to scalp me. Was this right to say? why did you attack me to defend someone you claim to not share views with?

anyone who says this is a "drag" didn't read it
she didn't really make any good or educated points at all, it was more like a comedy piece
the whole "article" is based off of a made-up name anyways, guess she just couldn't wait for her chance to slander beyoncé

Because you said "some Beyonce fans" when that person being a Bey fan has 0 to do with what they think of feminism. And it wasn't "some", it was one. If you want to name and shame, then go ahead, but don't drag my stanbase into it, as if we are all thinking like that
And the Bruno remark was shade gorl, don't take it so deep. Was it right? Not 100%, but it was a kii

"White feminism" does not mean every white woman, everywhere, who happens to identify as feminist. It also doesn't mean that every "white feminist" identifies as white. "White feminism" is a specific set of single-issue, non-intersectional, superficial feminist practices. It is the feminism we understand as mainstream; the feminism obsessed with body hair, and high heels and makeup, and changing your married name. It is the feminism you probably first learned. "White feminism" is the feminism that doesn't understand western privilege, or cultural context. It is the feminism that doesn't consider race as a factor in the struggle for equality.
White feminism is a set of beliefs that allows for the exclusion of issues that specifically affect women of colour. It is "one size-fits all" feminism, where middle class white women are the mould that others must fit. It is a method of practicing feminism, not an indictment of every individual white feminist, everywhere, always.

But it is a thing in 2014, you cannot erase what was because it's still impacting today, pls understand that the term "white feminism" stands for a lot it's not grouping each white woman who stands for feminism, it's a term because of the actual history behind it & ppl need to stop crying prejudice because there has been actual occurrences, history and facts about that term
-
It all goes back to race and again to actual occurrences in our history books that you can gladly read about im not gonna take anyone on atrl to serious most of the time they're just agreeing with an article if they're slamming a popstar they don't like and don't care about exactly what the article itself is presenting (feminism)
I am done talking to you & I should of when you said *susan b Anthony died 100 yrs ago* as if that changes the fact that the women who was the leader of women's suffrage was racist

I hate the name though, why does race gotta be involved in everything? Feminism is about gender, not race. While I understand the thought put into it, I think it can be named differently. It really sounds like a shady way of linking it to white supremacy or some ish.

The point I was trying to make was you can't compare "black people being mean to white people" to what black people in the USA have been going through for countless of years...majority of the belief systems in the USA were consructed based on the ideals of white people (the dominant race)

I was just giving you examples.
I've read. Alice Walkers: "In Search of Our Mothers’ Gardens: Womanist Prose" is a great read for those of you who want to learn about feminism past the mainstream view.
