Her latest album Avril Lavigne (along with with Lotus and Cher's Closer to the Truth) did outsell Britney Jean WW so she kinda did slay her in the end...
I thought P!nk was an Afterthought but Avril takes the cake, A fad, and not even a memorable Fad either, making Gaga's decline seem iconic by comparison
It's interesting, but if you look at US iTunes, Can't Hold Us is selling way more recurrently than Thrift Shop is. It wasn't as big a hit as TS, but it seems to be have more legs on sales.
I feel Katy will be more remembered due to amount of huge hits she had.
Katy's going to outlast Avril by a long shot but let them get their drags in to feel better about CHARTDROP and the super iconic definitely remembered not forgotten at all singles like Bad Romance, Poker Fave and Just Dance!

Tbh both Gaga and Avril careers are kinda similar. Artpop is basically doing Goodbye Lullaby numbers

Cuz it's a better song and actually gives LIFE everytime.
Katy will matter more than Avril when it is all said and done. Avril is responsible for making people wear ratty multicolored extensions in their hair, and that's it. Katy is known as ONE of the leading pop girls of her time. Avril was an afterthought even back in her peak. There was Christina, P!nk, and even Belly.
No way. Avril was as iconic and massive as Britney. She was the Adele of the 00's.
Legend X, Pink and Belly are all second tier.
