She could have easily gotten any other rapper on it, she's pulled in way bigger names before (Snoop, Kanye). He can't afford to treat Katy the same way he treated Kesha, she's under no contractual obligation to work with him and brings in waaaaay more $

In a way, though, he CAN afford to treat Katy the way he treats Kesha.
Just because, like... Katy's singles discography would be MUCH different without Luke.
They're co-dependent on one another.

She's a big enough name now to pull on her own weight if she needed. She produced Waking Up in Vegas and it was top 10 and multiplatinum. Not to mention there are other big producers that would love to work with her (she's turned down David Guetta and Calvin Harris), and I'm sure StarGate would love to with her again. And at a time Luke his label is falling apart, he needs Katy.
