I really don't know what to think. Only heard the song once so far (just now). Ever seen "Born to Die", I've loved everything she has released instantly.
Hmmm.... I wouldn't say the production of this song is better than BTD. They're actually very incomparable. I LOVE the sound and vibe of West Coast, but the production on BTD is leaps and bounds better. The instrumentals on BTD can make standalone movie soundtracks -- they don't need vocals at all to tell a story. They're already storytelling in a cinematic way. You also get a big sense of nostalgia of American history and patriotism from the BTD tracks. The instrumentals evoke so much imagery.
If you take away Lana's vocals on West Coast, then you'd just have atmospheric ambience. It's just music you could just probably sway to, but it doesn't project any cinematic visuals.
