Lana was unbothered by its release and success at the time and rightfully remains so. It gave her the hit but BTD was gonna serve a longevity tea regardless.
I think it was a good decision to state it clear on the first date of the American tour, that she was going to perform the original (obviously she wasn't going to perform the remixed version, even if it was an Adele-sized success) but I think it was clear that some American ticket holders may have expected to hear this.

It's her song. She's obviously not that kind of artist to do that music. So she has a right to have an opinion on something she created being redone to be everything she doesn't represent. Music not the bling applies to her more than anyone else.
The lyrics are what really worked for the song. A song with the title "Summertime Sadness" is just destined to be a hit. It just needed to be more uptempo which is what Cedric did. But he took all the originality from the song and made it generic.
Cedric is overreacting. That's just a saying snd it's a positive one like
"Gaga danced the **** out of the GUY video"
"Adele sang the **** out of Soneone Like You"

Lana should be more grateful tbh, even if she doesn't like him.
Whether you like the remix or not it got the original version a lot of attention, increased her album sales a lot and brought back people interest in her (at least in the US anyway).
