People need to STFU bout Wayne's success already, like really. (Perhaps if Stephanie McIntosh released an album, she'd do the same numbers. ) The album is ****ing sublime compared to the Black Eyed Peas **** most of you guys would prefer. What needs to sick into yur dense ass skulls is that THERE IS MORE TO LIL WAYNE THAN "LOLLIPOP". If you don't see how multifaceted he is listening to "A Milli", "Got Money", "Dr. Carter" and "Shoot Me Down", then maybe you should keep fingering yourselves to "Disturbia" or whatever god-awful **** Baldanna released now.
yo, what katduluna video is that in your avatar...it looks nice. i didnt' know she could put it down like that
Lil Wayne and Coldplay Battle for Top Slot, as Camp Rock Remains Top 3, Beck Debuts
July 9, 2008
Lil Wayne, Coldplay and Camp Rock will continue to dominate the top of next week’s chart, according to early retail reports from music sellers around this totally rad country of ours.
Lil Wayne’s platinum-plus Tha Carter III and Coldplay’s million-selling Viva La Vida switched places this week, and could do the same next. Or not. But they will be #1-2 in any case, with Hollywood’s Camp Rock riding the Jonas Brothers into the #3 spot, leaving the Top 3 the same for the fourth straight week.
Among next week’s newcomers, Beck’s much-ballyhooed DGC collaboration with Danger Mouse, Modern Guilt, compared by no less than the L.A. Times’ Ann Powers to Pixar’s Wall-E, looks to be in the 70k range, which should be good enough for #4. Decca’s soundtrack to the film version of the ABBA movie Mamma Mia, which opens a week from Friday (7/18), could do 50k or even higher.
Maroon 5’s deluxe edition of their best-selling A&M/Octone album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, appears to be headed for first-week sales of 15k.
The market was down 1% vs last week, down 13% vs same week last year and now down 11% year-to-date. You may now return to fantasizing about Madonna, A-Rod, C-Rod and Lenny Kravitz in a foursome.
"If I Never See Your Face Again" didn't catch on ANYWHERE. The single didn't even peak in the top 50 of the Hot 100.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, it's because radios are whoring out too much Rihanna at once. If they weren't busy whoring out Disturbia and Take A Bow at once, there would be room for IINSYFA, and the song would be huge like it should be.
