Why do people say this? "BEYONCE" was released messy there, so I understand why it flopped. But they have used her in the past and she is very popular there.

These numbers are pretty good for Western Artists.

Only "4" and her latest release under-performed. The latter was just set up to fail there.

She's also one of the few black western acts to sell out the Tokyo Dome.

I didn't even know she did so well, I was under the impression they never really used her.

Forgive my lack of knowledge on Bey's receipts, I really don't actually know that much outside of her UK and US sales so I just thought she wasn't popular there or anything.

I mean it's extra impressive considering her music and image is quite a contrast from what Japan eats up usually.

Also, with the iTunes deal, she had to pay $0 for the iTunes takeover. Again, Bey is a smart business woman. And they worked out the price to ensure a profit was made. She's been in the business long enough to know how this works.

She's already profited from the era I'm positive, even if I pretend that Beyonce pays full price for everything, and even if we castaway the assumption that Pepsi financed the videos (which I don't believe to be true).

She literally had no initial marketing overhead. That already saved millions.
