No, she does it because it makes it more relatable and universal. That's actually a good writing technique in terms of song-writing. For instance, let's say some of the speculation on part of the stans is right and You Love Me is about Kelly's feelings towards people in the music industry that she's worked with. If she were to narrow it down to a topic like that, very few people would be able to relate to it. However, she may it arbitrary by making it about a personal relationship and it still fits with her feelings and I can relate to it as well. Good song-writers can convert their feelings in a sense to be more universal, you don't want everything to be so specific.
Slay a bit Kelly! 
She can tony pick up an Emmy, already has a Grammy. All she needs is an Oscar (music, obviously) and a Tony. I really hope she does Broadway someday. She really does have the booming voice for that stage.
