I think Beyonce does not care about numbers and chart positions anymore, but yeah she needs to promote if this era is going to make a lasting impression. She is not above promoting you know, and right now this era is in dire need of promotion.

I buy and view the music because it's amazing. I think charts are interesting but I could care less if Beyonce does a daytime TV tour because to me that doesn't equate to quality music.

Obviously the whole point of this project was the music and what it means, the emphasis has never been on single or even album success. She has stated multiple times that her promo blitzes will never be like they were because she's not into anymore and that's her choice. I wouldn't expect any promo outside of a commercial or two and performances on the big award shows.

Sales and commercial performance are obviously not her priority anymore

Not to interect (my opinion doesn't matter I guess, I'm not a member of the Hive) but I love this song and I want it to smash. It's a fan favorite and one of, if not THE best song on the album. But at this point it's obvious it won't do much of anything if she doesn't perform somewhere with a large audience. Radio updates don't really matter nor does it being #1 on urban soon because the sales have stalled. Unless this does amazing on pop (something that would be surprising to say the least) there is nowhere left to go but down. If she doesn't perform the song or do some promo, we are currently witnessing Partition's worldwide peak.

There is no point in releasing singles if you're not going to care. That's it, point blank. No song becomes a smash hit on its own. She's already achieved what she wanted this era, so why bother sending songs to radio? They'll just play what they want to anyway.

And like someone said earlier, this song isn't like Drunk In Love. It's not really turning in to a viral success and streaming isn't magnificent. It needs a push to reach its full potential. Otherwise, this is it.

Beyonce took a risk with the content of this album and this song embodies it. She might as well own it and put herself out there. I don't understand why she would send it to urban radio for no reason. So people could hear it on the radio every hour? 80-90% of Urban radio's audience already knew about this song, hence the sales it had before the official radio release. If she's not going to bother sending it to pop or giving it a major performance, there's basically no point in official singles. If she would rather enjoy her time off that's perfectly fine, but this half-assed charade is annoying and makes her look worse chart-wise. I seriously don't understand the upside in doing this.
