Your Body is a great song, it just needed promo. The video is VEVO certified as well, imagine if the streaming rule had been in place

I guess pop songs without crossover potential don't stand a chance to make it big anymore, but it was such an exciting song And it remains snubbed and unperformed to this day

I guess from a radio standpoint, Blake's name didn't mean much to pop radio to help boost it, but I don't think his name hurt it either. But seriously, I've never seen a song with such little airplay sell so much. It's like the song sold itself basically, and the ltitle airplay it did get was so reactive.
Didn't they release local sales figures for the few towns that played Just A Fool, and Just A Fool was topping the local city sales charts? And I've never seen a song that didn't do so well get so many covers on YouTube also.
I really believe that the song could be re-promoted and be a success if they tried again. And there have been songs like that too before that flopped the first time but were given a second chance like Cee-Lo's Forget You and Pink's Who Knew

Yeah Your Body actually wasn't that much of a flop tbh, it went gold with almost no promo and the video has over 100 million views, clearly some people were here for it. JAF was meant to be a crossover hit and easily would've gone platinum with a video but I've learned to let that dream go I'm not saying she can't do any more upbeat songs at all, but a ballad or midtempo would be preferable for the next lead single and the upbeat songs can come later. Oh and speaking of YB and JAF, they both need to be certified gold

Yeah, the interest in Your Body was so strong. That's like the strongest reaction to a lead single's she ever had.
But I hate how the streaming rules changed in 2012. It's like in 2007,2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, AND 2013 and 2014, Your Body's first week sales and airplay would have guaranteed it Top 20. And that Top 20 position would have helped radio perception because they do look at Hot 100 activity.
But just in 2012 the rules were changed in such a way for that song to chart even lower than NMT even though it sold way more
And that's not even getting into how first week sales were screwed from the start since they waited one month to put it on sale after the leak

'Just a Fool' had a lot of potential. I think it's the most relatable single she's released since 'The Voice Within' tbh. Everyone can relate to the lyrics. It could have all been different if she and the label cared more. They tried to get her some banners to help the song's airplay, they tried to fix her relationship with certain radio stations, but it didn't work after all. It's still a gold certified single, so I guess it's a small victory given how messy the 'Lotus' era was

Yeah, Your Body had at least Top 20 impact imo. Like I said in the post above, it's just the Billboard rules of the time were messed up and made the song look worse than it did. But it was a bigger hit than Not Myself Tonight. But then people look at the peak, and try to spin it

A music video really would have made all the difference. And if they had waited till 2013 when the Billboard rules changed again I could see it being a huge streaming hit especially if they got the other Voice people to join in

nnn poor NMT still hasn't hit 500K in sales yet Lotus was actually more successful then Bionic really, at least in terms of the singles. Both YB and JAF outsold NMT and YLM.

And 'Bionic' was a buzz album for ATRL and blogs. I can't wait for her 4th real album in 2015

I know right? lol Although I do think NMT sold poorly in part because the video was blocked. It's weird that a song like You Lost Me which I think peaked at like 0.01 audience impressions has like over 40 million views on Youtube and Not Myself Tonight only has like 15 million. Now they seem to have unblocked it...but like a few years too late
And You Lost Me sales should have been higher too. At least it should have debuted on The Hot 100. But it wasn't up for download when she performed in on American Idol right?

IDK but You Lost Me was a flop of epic proportions. I mean has it even sold 100K Well at least it was number one on the dance/club chart ignoring that basically anything goes number one on there. Oh and something else that annoys me is that they never uploaded a full audio for JAF on her vevo, but they uploaded Blank Page I'm gonna need an audio and/or a lyric video on her vevo for her next single. No excuses.

Lord y'all reminding me all the messsss from bionic/lotus eras.
this kind of management of proper releases and audio uploads and whatnot really matter. especially in today's climate of accessibility and billbpard rules.
She needs a personal team who manages this stuff. That alone could save her.
I remember Miley saying she got the help from a fan or something who knew about this stuff and that's basically what made her become relevant for the bangerz era. proper promotion.

She needs a whole new team tbh. Maybe a new label too, but I know she won't leave RCA yet. The PR team is everything in this day and age and Christina's team is so outdated and irrelevant sometimes.
