But people still have the audacity to act all morally superior because they listen to Adele.

This is quite true but that doesn't actually say anything about the quality of her music.
She's quite good. She's not the best artist of our generation as some would claim, but she still deserves much of the praise she gets. And from what I've seen in interviews, she herself doesn't seem to be one of those people who buys into that mentality. She seems quite humble.

I don't really find her overrated, I just think her fans try to find any reason to talk about her in threads that have nothing to do with her which makes them annoying

how much did Stevie Wonder albums sell ? and yet he is the one Kanye is looking to when it comes to make a classic body of work. do some researchs. how much Kanye sells himself? and yet he is probably the best album maker among males of this generation

Yes, while she is amazing, people (especially in the US) treat her like she's the rebirth of "real talent" and "real music, oh so indie and hipster"

People overrate her voice but her music itself is underrated imo.

Yes, but she is an amazing artist. I also think that the "21" album is actually overrated not she in general.

This is such a lie.
I enjoy Adele but come on.

I'm not sure someone who hasn't put an album out in over three years can be overrated. 21 continues to sell so I don't think overrated or not is the question, I think the question really we should ask is, how, if possible, the success of 21 (or anyone for that matter who sustained the same success, like Carole King, MJ, or Garth Brooks) can be replicated by anyone. Sure there are other great artists out there with amazing talent, maybe even better than Adele, but let's face it, they aren't selling records the way she did, in recent years. Could they? Maybe. But they are not. Is it Adele's voice, her songwriting, her attitude, her personality, etc, that causes someone to like her and/or buy her album? Who really knows when there are 26 million guesses to that question. But If she is, I don't think being overrated (or not) is necessarily a bad thing, if we are still discussing her this long after her last release, with no definite news of a third album and when we may hear it.

Adele's success can be very much attributed to her widespread cultural appeal with music that is reminiscent of what people call real music with very little use of electronics and raw vocal talent. Much of her appeal is attributed to her music, her image, and a unique voice. What I see her as is the embodiment of what modern culture sees as a true artist who looks not for controversy, but rather produces music based on true feelings and emotions and, you know, actually has talent. Her image coincides with this concept, being a typical lady without an apparent image of grandeur and simply gets up on stage to sign with her microphone. All of these factors have collided within a social context to create her success.
What I can say about her quality of music is that is is purely subjective. There is no such thing as overrated outside of the context of your own brain, a subjective perception that can not be established as truth or fact. All I can say is there is an enormous population that loves her, and that she is rated perfectly fine.
Her voice is fantastic, but I will admit that her voice gets a lot of press where it may not be deserved. Truth is, she can fall flat during many of her live performances, she does not have the best vocal control, and does not have the best range. These are aspects of objective vocal quality mastered by the likes of Whitney Houston and Beyoncé, to name a few. Many artists in the popular sphere, based on the objective criteria, sing better than Adele.

Yeah, but maybe because her style of music wasn't new to me? She's talented, but a singer should be talented.
