Her voice is overrated. Maybe it's due to the fact that she relies on it more than popstars, but when people are telling me, or I read "Adele sings better than Beyoncé/Gaga" just because of that, it's clear that they don't know what they're talking about.

My opinion that Adele is overrated is in regards to the quality of her music vs the public opinion

A lot of people say Adele has "raw talent," or, "doesn't take her clothes off, " "makes ~r33l muzik,"
but 21 was nothing more than a 60s throwback sound, which is something that a lot of artists had been doing (and a lot better at that) for quite some time

The amount of times I've seen people say something to the effect of "Adele is the only singer who can actually sing these days". There are still many great vocalists and innovative artists in RnB and beyond, yet they don't get an ounce of support. But people still have the audacity to act all morally superior because they listen to Adele.

Welp, Jazmine Sullivan doesn't push some "I'm a ~real~ sized, not-****ty woman who makes ~*~REAL~*~ music in a sea of underfed bimbos who sell fake music off their ****!!" mantra, so people don't feel the need to bandwagon for her, unfortunately.

That's a huge part of Adele's shitck, so I find it funny when people go on and on about how Adele "doesn't have a gimmick." EVERY popular singer has some gimmick; Adele's happens to be fooling you into thinking she's so REAL! and everyone else isn't. I'll give her credit where credit is due though: that's a very clever gimmick for winning over a major demographic that still buys albums.

I'm referring to pop music because she's not even a pop artist but managed to have more success with one album than many pop artists do in their entire career. The fact that what she does is so unlike a pop artist and she still achieves all this success is just incredible.
