There's such a thing as going too big with the venue. Apparently Stockholm was ruled out because we were hosting the ice hockey WC in Globen at the time, and the other option would've been Friends Arena, with like 30k in the audience. The reason why they went with Malmö instead was because it's difficult to produce a tv show when the venue is too big. Last year when MF moved to FA, it was a disaster. They eventually learned to work around it for this year, but you don't have that luxury when it comes to ESC.
So yeah, bigger venues and more tickets isn't necessarily the answer.
