lol at you generalizing a whole fanbase, just like i can generalize Bey haters. Whether you like it or not, these "it girls" have faded, while Bey is still here, and will continue to be here.

You think only it girls fade? They all fade, and the ones who made more cultural impact are the most remembered ones, britney and gaga might be has-beens but they made more buzz and impact than beyonce entire career did. When beyonce fades(because they all do) we'll see if her consistency is remembered, hope so!

almost 20 years in the industry and she bigger than the newer acts. Pressed because your faves are flopping into oblivion, while Bey will always be here. BTW I am still waiting for your definition of "it girl" because I want to know how you arrived at the conclusion that miley was the "it girl" with her <2 million albums sold WW .

20 years? I didn't know she debuted in 1994, did she had another girl group before Destiny Child?
I never said anything about Miley but yeah she was the it girl last year, she might not sell that much albums, but she definitely sold more singles than beyonce has in a very very long time.

Nope. Sorry. B has always been successful and popular, but was never the "it" girl. All the stans listing years fail to realize that there was always other artists above her in those years.

It would be denial to say she wasn't ever the "it" girl. She was very imitated plenty of times and ended quite a few careers during that era. . . . .soooooo. She set the standard for a while.

I never saw someone imitating her, I know a lot of people say rihanna is a clone, but all I saw were cute black girls trying to make their own careers, honestly all this so called Beyonce clones are just black girls making their own careers.

Still don't get why everyone is voting yes when it girl is not important, some of you are so so bothered, 20 pages were worth it

I don't think she's ever OWNED a year like Britney, Lady Gaga, ADELE, and Miley Cyrus have but she's the only one of the major pop girls who's been consistently on top throughout her career, since 2003 (although one could argue she fell off the wagon during her 4 era).

There has never been a girl who has been bigger than everyone throughout an entire calender year besides Adele, and even Adele fell to Beyoncé for a month when she released 4, GaGa released BTW, and every other major release that year.
8+9=17 weeks. Beyoncé was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 17/52 weeks that year.. that's almost 1/3 of an entire year belonging to ONE Person.
There was no "It" girl in 2003 Besides Beyoncé. It's not Xtina, because the Stripped era ended that year and after Beautiful she wasn't touching Beyoncé. You're comparing half of an album and one single (Plus Fighter... kinda) vs an entire era and 3 top 5 singles. That's sad.

Britney came back on september of that year and sold 600,000 in its first week, and in the end DIL and ITZ sold about the same WW in the end, plus let's not compare the media attention and Britney's superstar status to her on that year compared to Beyonce, she was honestly a non-factor compared to Britney those days, the Madonna kiss alone was more talked about that Bey's entire career at THAT POINT. Alicia keys also about the same albums than beyonce that year. She was not the biggest force at all that year.
