Yeah, it worked as well.
Judging by this thread, most people can't remember how Lady Gaga got famous, but the truth is that Just Dance actually started on rhythmic radio BEFORE it got onto pop radio. I remember it vividly, and it's strange for a pop song to do that, but clearly the heavy Akon association helped in that respect. There was also a remix of the song that a lot of the stations were playing.
