The Volume Up performances were really pretty messy and What's Your Name was just weird, but they really stepped it up for Is It Poppin' and Whatcha Doin' Today?. Each girl was present and on point, and, uh, in the moment.
The girls felt uncomfortable during Volume Up because of all the hate they kept receiving + they had just come back from the Mirror Mirror controversy.

They did improve from WYN but I stand by my comment
Now...don't freak out at me for this, but Big Bang also comes to mind. Not in the sense that they're bad performers, but compared to generic idol groups, their on stage "act" is really lackluster. They don't dance, at least, not a lot, and GD and Taeyang are so busy yelling that they don't vocalize much.
Not even all the time, but I just remember watching one of the Bad Boy comeback stages and being like...what is the point of this performance?
I have to admit that alot of the Volume Up and WYM? performances were lackluster, but these recent performances have been ON POINT. Giving me their Huh and I, Me, Mine days tease.
I stan for Queen HyunA and their great discography anyways though.

Completely agree. Like part of the reason I enjoy watching my favourite idol groups' live performances is because they actually try to put on a proper performance and perform the song similar to the way it is on the record. For me Big Bang (and to a lessor extent 2NE1 but not so much) just walk around onstage and adlib their way over most of the vocal parts and their performances seem to be becoming less and less choreographed with each comeback they get which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's just something that turns me off as far as appreciating a live performance goes.
I might have a different opinion if I actually saw them live in concert for myself though.
