(as there is their main argument for reparations). The Western powers and America really screwed up these countries + Africa in every way possible and made recovery extremely difficult. Though the people of today were not involved, the damage and sentiment are still there and more needs to be done to help them, not just money.

The way some of you are trying to say that it's the country's fault by comparing them to already powerful and stable nations though

Many poor countries half a century ago are now first-world countries, so I wouldn't think it's that difficult

Don't compare the two, slavery was not about eradicating African people, their culture and history from the world (and remember the African countries were involved in the slave trade and sold their own people). Both horrific and inexcusable but very different.

I know I'm saying if the Carribean countries are suing Britain because of the slave trade, why wouldn't or shouldn't they sue the US, because the US was a huge place of the Atlantic slave trade, and was one of the last countries to abolish slavery

slave owners had slaves... these were people who bought then form Africa, no specific demographic had one.

That isn't true though. It was def the upper classes that owned slaves. They were not cheap.

Plus you had to own land for the slaves to work.
