Music show 411: idols usually perform 3 or 4 times and then editors mix together the best parts of all the performances. It's rarely ever just one straight shot. Like, there's a SHINee performance of Everybody where Jonghyun is wearing a different jacket in between parts of the chorus and it switches back and forth every few lines. So stuff like that isn't specifically indicative of lipsyncing, it just takes some editing to make the vocals line up correctly. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that they were using pre-recorded vocals.
It did make it significantly more boring though because it gave the whole performance that kind of "boxed-in" feel.
But yeah, I am glad they didn't just use the studio version of the song. It proves that Tiffany can actually hit that note, so.
