tbh I think all this stuff about "Gaga can't do XXXXXX because Troy has the rights" is just ******** made up by monsters to excuse the disaster this era has been. Sorry, but it's the truth. Managers don't own everything you do, that's not how it works. Why would Troy have the rights to the DWUW video? Why would Troy have the rights to "Mother Monster"? Other artists fire their managers all the time (well, not all the time nnn) and this is never a problem. If it were, Gaga would be in court right now fighting for the rights to her own work and image back. Interscope owns her work.
There has been literally no substantiation to these claims beyond "that's what I heard!!"
Plus Gaga and Troy are still involved in Backplane together, they have to keep it at least somewhat civil in that regard.

I definitely believe that Gaga is not always to blame. Where she went wrong, IMO, was openly expressing how much of a victim she is. Her whole depressed artist thing just isn't cool anymore. Imagine having a friend where your convo goes like this:
You: How was your day?
Friend: I missed my bus, my mom has a fever, and the cold water ran out. Ugh, why me?! Why me!
You: Oh....
Friend: And now the whole world is mad at me!
Sarcastic You: Well I guess the problem can't be you
Imagine this all the time
I want her to be strong and project that strength. Like a less contrived BTW. Not so much 'I am who I am,' more like 'I don't care who you think I am.'

This is possible too but I question things like Cake Like Lady Gaga, the documentary with Terry, The Born This Way Ball DVD for example. The BTWB DVD is the most egregious example because there is absolutely no reason it hasn't been released. If Interscope just doesn't want to release it they are idiots - which.. well.. they could be. But I don't think so. There definitely is something fishy there at least.

That era > the ARTPOP era
Also, I like her interview where she is being a bitch and say "I wouldn't like for anyone to see me at all other than my music." I know things have changed, but it's true. If Gaga is struggling then I'd love to see that expressed through her art...Her twitter rants while telling monsters to stay strong doesn't sit well with me

|
Well, 'Boomkack' hinted TEOG would be 'fishy', which brought the mermaid idea. And the photos with the features you mentioned were for TEOG, but everything just got cancelled and you can see the director, at the time, has a bit of bitterness with Gaga.

We got that and it was this: something truly dark and disturbing yet so many dragged her for filth for it. I want to know more about it. I want to understand some of that madness. It's very Goya-ish and I wouldn't mind for Gaga to go there if Act II is really Act II.

I completely agree. I was so excited ARTPOP was going to be an FU to everyone after the perfume launch.

Supposedly Troy funded the DWUW video, so that's the reason it isn't released.
Gaga said even though she fired Troy, Interscope has been very supportive of her creatively.
Gaga has been hinting people were 'using' her for more money I guess because they weren't satisfied with how things were going?

Me too. Everyone made fun of her for it but I think it's fascinating. I'd love to know what inspired it. I hope her new music explores the feelings that inspired this painting.

Gaga should give a big F-U to the world for her next album and drop her Human Nature
Oops, I didn't know I couldn't talk about art

Other managers aren't so involved in the creation of their clients. Troy helped fund the DWUW video, and he has legal and creative rights to the name Mother Monster because he created it. He really is responsible for the majority of Lady Gaga, the brand, so it isn't far-fetched to assume he has rights to a lot of things other managers would never have.
And good point about Backplane - which makes sense as to why LM.com would go unaffected by all of this.

Gaga had a vision, and Troy wasn't here for it if it meant not making the most money possible. Gaga wanted to take the risks with this era, but Troy wanted to play it safe. Thus, Applause happened.
Thus, Troy was fired
