But its not a popular MAINSTREAM genre. You don't see country songs flying up pop radio or the Hot 100 every week with the exception of of course Carrie and as of lately Taylor Swift, but those are bare chances at best.

Now of course they're popular on their own charts, but I wouldn't call this move a sellout. Thats more for those who completely bomb with an album, then change their sound to something that's current in mainstream appeal, and country definitely ain't a current mainstream sound as it once was.

I think Country is very popular. That's why they have their own awards and they have been topping the album charts.

It's much harder to get success in country music than it is in pop music. If Jessica started out as a country artist and became a pop artist that could be seen as selling out, but not the other way around.
