BOMT was released in a completely different sales era than No One was. There wasn't 99 cent digital downloads and bla bla bla. I agree that the chart has become kind of innacurate because of the shifting sales market.

As for Umbrella and No One, they were released in the same year

Agree, ...Baby One More Time was #1 in every country with official charts excluding Japan where it peaked at #5.

How is 'Bleeding Love' down two? It wasn't on the actual website chart in the first place was it? Plus none of the songs above it, have been below it at any point, so don't you mean up two? Or am I just totally confused?

fridayteenage was referring to the updated chart she produced on the previous page of the thread using guesstimates, recent figures and totals from various sources around the web. On that Bleeding Love was two places higher.

I checked the BL figure myself by going through the individual charts since it first hit the WWC and got a figure of approx. 6.9m before this week's update so the latest figure looks right to me.

I think "Bleeding Love" eventually could surpass Apologize at the top.

If a song like Apologize will surpass "Believe" (one of the biggest pop classics ever), I just hope "Bleeding Love" can surpass Apologize too.
