Yeah I think the song is perfect for his first single. I bet some people were expecting a change (like more rock/alternative), but it would be too risky considering Phillips is not yet an established artist. He is no Taylor Swift
Yeah this is what i wanted and i'm not disappointed, like you said it's too risky to change direction when you're trying to establish yourself. He can do whatever he wants after and i'm sure the album will have more rocky songs.
