This doesn't surprise me in the least. Black women are independent, smart, driven, hard-working, and passionate. They deserve this honor and so much more.

A black person get's a job and people blame it on affirmative action when studies have shown that actually helps white women the most. I don't know what "set quotas" you're talking about but it's pure ******** like the AA myth. Stay mad
And this thread is a perfect example of how racism and sexism is still prevalent in today's society. Instead of viewing this as a positive thing, people try to bring black women down by making excuses for why they're number one. Why not just congratulate and move on.

I feel as though a lot of the time Europeans like to gloss over race and do the whole "we're all just PEOPLE" thing but it just doesn't work that way. Colourblind-ness erases the experiences and cultural identity of the non-white person and borders close on erasing the importance of their accomplishments, only further pushing down the fight for non-whites to make themselves visible in the world.

The point on emphasis on race is to show that we're here and we're only gonna get better and stronger and take over all your **** after years systematic prejudice to keep us down and "in our place." That's why whites get mad and ask "where's the birth certificate?" when we end up with a black president but they don't do the same for any of the white ones. It's the reason why white people are trying everything in their power to prevent poor and underprivileged blacks from voting in the next election because they don't want anymore darkies in the White House. But yeah, we're all just people, no need to highlight race or anything. Colourblind!
