Rainbow to me personally wasn't about the depth, lyricism or gimmick of the album.
Like MC said she named that album rainbow because it showed off different textures and idiosyncrasies of her voice.People try to drag her rainbow vocals, but they were good to me.
Soulful,somewhat raspy,showed of her complicated riffs and runs, defining use of melisma etc.
I would say vocally it was her most creative in terms of how she approached her songs.
TBH I DO love it though. It's like my ultimate form/weapon or something.
