In order to being thanked, people would put more effort into their posts. That's all.

There isn't a negative reputation. It's between no reputation at all and reputation beyond repute. Of course, I'm not saying ATRL should use these tacky titles. But still it's a suggestion. Like I said, it could be useful for the recognition of smart shade-filled posts and posts that are funny... I don't know, posts that have that je ne se qua and make the ATRL experience funnier.
I can already predict some of the users that would have the best reputations.
But one with a positive side might, so I'm glad you guys are considering it. I think it would work very well on the chart section. I see people like umich getting a lot of praise for their work.
