The last thing she added to BTW was Heavy Metal Lover and the last thing she added to CHART-TOP was Do What U Want. Is definitely better that she keeps on working.

She could have taken off Jewels and Drugs. That song is something I use to the fullest, but it doesn't add any weight to artpop. And because it feels less like Gaga and more like other rappers, it would have been nice on her little mixtape prior to album release!

I think the main problem of ARTPOP is Lady Gaga herself. Someone should have told her right at the start no one will take her pretentious rambling about reverse Warholian experiences. They just want POP music: big choruses, catchy hooks and relatively inoffensive lyrics. Applause was okay but no pop MOMENT like Bad Romance or Alejandro or The Edge Of Glory.

No, she needs something less sterile, less noisy, less electronic, more human, more beautiful, more universal. She needs an album that makes people stop, close their eyes and listen. With melodies that easily top every chart worldwide. Heartfelt lyrics like:

My ideal album from Gaga would combine the genres of pop, rock, and jazz. Perhaps something along the lines of Beautiful Dirty Rich but with more substance. Jazz and rock definitely suit her and she can tie them together with pop structures and melodies. Electronic music is not her strength, she was much stronger with the rock-pop sound she pursued before The Fame.

A commentary on pop culture (or any culture) in art should be PART OF the work, not the FOCUS of the work. That's why the concept of 'The Fame' was so smart at the time - she recorded an album about chasing cheap 21st century fame and then achieved it on a huge level.

She really only had one great concept. A pity, really, that she couldn't follow it up with anything more substantial then ''We were born this way'' (duh) and ''High art can belong in pop culture'' (double duh).

If every pop girl worked with Emeli Sandé, they would always guarantee themselves commercial success. More success than Adele.

PRISM and Unapologetic were (local) successes, and Britney Jean was a commercial disaster. 2 of these albums were subject to a handé in writing and one was rejected at the last minute. Do the maths.

Even something blissfully upbeat like Wonder would do Gaga so well.

After all, the advantage of being an Emeli Sandé stan is that all your tracks are written by Emeli Sandé.

Yes, The Fame was 10x more cohesive and well thought out. It was more ambitious to write about fame and then put so much work into achieving it.

Now Gaga's sole purpose is to comment on how critics hate her and how art and pop culture could belong together. To make matters worse, it seems as though she thinks throwing this word out makes it ARTPOP.
