Doubtful. I don't think many people here take Christina or Miley all that seriously or view them as threats yet they're both among the most voted pop girls either.
I think it might be due to the fact that she's not as much of a global force so people from outside the US inclined to dislike her haven't grown to actively resent her due to overexposure. But then that wouldn't explain Christina being among the most unpopular and Rihanna being among the least unpopular. So I have no idea.
